Anthony Califano, known around here as Coach, is a fantastic example of the Strength Happens method in action. He is a high school wrestling coach and a very busy man. While he has many responsibilities, he doesn’t let them take away from training here at Strength Happens. He makes time between his coaching sessions to come in to the gym, making his own health a priority. Even when he is extremely busy, mid season, he shows up for himself.
How long have you been doing the SH and what value has it brought you?
Coach: I’ve been at SH for 5 years. I have a gained a much higher level of total fitness. I also enjoy the camaraderie with the gym members and trainers.
What does strength happen mean to you, and how do you apply it to your day to day life? Coach: Strength Happens means that I need to challenge myself everyday, even when I don’t feel like it.
What activities do you like to do outside of the gym?
Coach: I enjoy running and hiking.
What’s your favorite healthy “go to” snack?
Coach: Cashews, almonds and cranberries trail mix.
